Green Energy and entrepreneurship

Representation of Renewable energy and how we can use them easily in our own life. Smart ideas and how people make their own business from the Environment. Protecting environment in all times means protecting myself and my work. Ideas from participants and what are they thinking about environment. Smart ideas with creativity and  entrepreneurship maybe they will be workable in next sessions.

Creating my Green Company or Green Youth Project (Group Work 1): Participants will try to find partners for common projects or company’s which they have to do with environment and green energy. All the ideas will represent to all participants from the participants so to decide what they want to do and built their teams (5 persons maximum in each team, teams can be also 3 or 4 persons). Creations of 6 to 10 teams which they will built their one project or plan or business which has to do with environment and green energy

Calculate your personal ecological footprint

Calculate your average carbon footprint of each of the participants of each organization.  Human activities consume resources and produce waste, and as our populations grow and global consumption increases, it is essential that we measure nature’s capacity to meet these demands. The Ecological Footprint has emerged as one of the world’s leading measures of human demand on nature. Simply put, Ecological Footprint Accounting addresses whether the planet is large enough to keep up the demands of humanity.

. Debate – Monoculture vs. Organic Farming

The participants will be able to:

  • Understand the difference between monoculture and organic farming.
  • Understand how monoculture and organic farming impact biodiversity.
  • Create a valid argument for and against monoculture and organic farming.

In the debate, some of the participants will take on certain roles

Web of life

In this activity, people brainstorm links in a global food web. They explore:

- The interdependency of living and non-living things and

- The inevitable impact of all human activity on the environment, and

the consequences.

Building my Green Company or Green Youth Project (Group Work 2): Groups now they have to built activities actions that they will do as a company or due to the project, they have to make plans about investments how they invest, how they will built their company in the internet or anywhere else, how they can be global and not local. Also for project they have to built the projects with all activities and what they have to do in these activities.

Group Activity: 3 groups will support reality for Global Warming and Climate Change, 3 groups will support the different opinion with trainers, with arguments and preparing a representation in A2 papers. Also they will represent their work to all of them with discussion.

Cyprus Island: Year 39 after the Energy Destruction (1)

Game activity: Participants consider the variety of different energy options available to communities living on Cyprus Island and select the most appropriate technology. Renewable energy fact cards, a map of the island, and information on the different communities and their needs are all resources designed to help them.  Exciting game activity with a lot of science fiction and renewable energy sources

Living in a perfect world

This activity starts with a quiz on proverbs and wise sayings that reflect different aspects of being at peace, and goes on to let participants reflect on:

  • The meaning of peace
  • Inner peace, peace with others and peace with the environment
  • Developing peaceful behavior

Group Activity: You are a group of journalist. Each one of you has certain role in the group. You will have to make groups of 4 to 5 persons. We will make 6 groups to work so at last you will make the Front Page of the newspaper that you are working.

Excursion to Kourion, we will visit a photovoltaic park in Pissouri and an environmental greenhouse in Kourion. Also we will go to ancient places in Kourion and we will have time to explore Kourion beach and have a bath at the beach.

We are all equal, but some are more equal than others. In this activity participants experience what it is like to be someone else in their society. The issues addressed include:

  • Social inequality being often a source of discrimination and exclusion
  • Empathy and its limits.
  • Equality to a safe world and healthily life

Representing my Green Company or Green Youth Project (Group Work 4): Groups will represent their ideas for business or project with environment. Discussion and questions in each idea (10 to 15 minutes in each group is depending of the number of the groups.

Participants will discover the characteristics of local forested areas, which may include woodlands, urban forests, schoolyard trees, and /or Tree Farms, and compare these characteristics to the forested areas of another region.

The Biodiversity of Life: Exploring the Outdoors

The point of this activity is to look carefully for organisms in the world around students.  Later they will work cooperatively in groups to create a master list of organisms found in the sample area.  Each individual is responsible for finding as many organisms as possible and they must represent at least 3 different kingdoms.   The work of the groups of participants will be presented at the end in a poster
